Final version of magazine

Magazine ad after feedback

After gaining feedback from fellow work mates as well as others from outside our media class we have changed the magazine to match the feedback they gave, we changed the font as before it did not match the heading, but also the heading itself did not work, we changed the heading to give it more of an indie look, and made the text bellow match it, also it was commented that there should be some other way which the magazine ad matches with the digipak, this is why we therefore faded the artists.

Other small feedback was around the areas of advertisements as we  realised it should be placed at the bottom of the magazine and not the top as it does not really fit in with the title.

This is the first stages of out magazine advert. after we looked at other magazine ads we followed their codes and conventions as well as incorporating our own ones which resulted in the following. we made the advert link in with our music video as well as our digipak so there is an awarness that all of these images link together.

From the research we got from the other record labels we kept our label looking plain but eye-catching at the same time with the use of colours, we also put London Vibe records bellow the label so people will know that our label is a music label.

Green Screen Editing

Here you can see the original image of me when we shot a video in front of the green screen, this was at the beginning of our recording process, we did this shot initially to explore the options of what could go behind me, which could in turn give us a wide range of ideas to work from instead of one simple shot with the green screen behind.

The shot we got after we explored our options was just left with being simple and black as it works well with the meaning and narrative of our video, both in turn that it is a flashback like scene of Danny having thoughts of the bully but also because it reflects the darkness of this character.

The effect that we used to make this recording black was the keying effect, we tried different options before such as trying to crop around the background but found that this was the best option for removing green screens that many people use.

Audience feedback results from first video (survey)

Once the first draft of our music video was finished we made some questions on a questionnaire and handed it to 20 people within our school that had all seen the video, we focused on 3 main aspects which was the lighting, the footage length and the narrative as fellow media students had commented on them as well. Once we gathered the data we put it in a chart document to make it easier to view and from there understood what needed to be done for the final version of our music video.

The editing software that we used for our music video was the apple Mac software final cut pro, the software itself allows us to place all the footage in the right places we want while croping it down to the right size. it also allows us to make adjustments to the footage with brightness and colours, so shots that were to dark before can be improved and work now as a result of it.

Editing can also now be added with multiple options such as wipes or fades which can work depending on the kind of effect we are trying to give, other things we can do is superimposing which is where we get one image placed on top of another to imply a connection between these two, such as a memory or a dream.

In order to stay in contact with each other during the filming project we all made sure that we had each others numbers so that we could communicate with each other when ever possible, here is an example of a conversation between me and Danny about re shooting one of our performance scenes.
